Codruț Zele (b. 1994) holds BA (2017) and MA (2019) degrees from the Sculpture Department of the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca. His artistic practice includes painting, sculpture and drawing. He has exhibited in galleries in Cluj-Napoca, including Cosmic House, and Timișoara, including the Himera Gallery, and his studio is open to the public during Unirea Open Studio events.

In his painting, the artist handles subjects close to the figurative area in which reality passes through a personal filter and thus offers access to thoughts on human nature. He is also inspired by themes from art history, which he reinterprets in his personal style. In Alfie, the composition and framing are done in a Cézannian manner, with thick, rhythmic brushstrokes.
