Mihaela Coandă (b. 1999) recently completed her master’s degree in painting at the University of Art and Design, Cluj-Napoca. She holds a BA from the same institution. She has participated in group exhibitions in Cluj-Napoca (Biju Gallery) and Timișoara (Jecza Gallery) and has had a solo show at Sala Liviu Vlad, a Cluj-Napoca exhibition space.

Delicate imaginary beings float weightlessly in Mihaela Coandă’s watercolor. Graceful, bizarre, and playful, the painting vibrates subtly in response to the meandering tails and bodies of the fantastical creatures that populate it.
