Ana Botezatu (b. 1982) works at the intersection between ceramics, drawing, book illustration, set design, puppet theater and ethnographic research. She studied ceramics at the Art and Design University of Cluj- Napoca, and currently lives and works in Berlin.

Ana Botezatu’s work contains the irony of lost times embodied in glossy but raw finishes. The figure twists and melts in a similar way to the candle it holds, making palpable in this way the connection between reality and the oniric world it inhabits. Botazutu’s masterful use of her medium makes these figures that seem to dwell in distant times, perhaps memories, materialize in front of one’s eyes.
