Timotei Nădășan (1958) lives and works in Cluj. He studied at the Ion Andreescu Institute of Fine Arts in Cluj (1983–1988). Between 1977 and 2000 he participated in numerous exhibitions and art events around the world, such as: International Biennale of Graphic Design, Brno (1986–2000), International Print Biennale, Ljubljana (1987), Graphic Art Biennale, Krakow (1988), International Drawing Triennale, Wroclaw (1988), The 11th International Drawing Exhibition, Rijeka (1988), 2nd International Poster Triennale, Toyama (1988), The Colorado International Poster Exhibition, Fort Collins (Colorado/SUA) (1997, 1991), Art as activist: Revolutionary Posters from Central and Eastern Europe, Smithsonian Institution, Washington (1992), "Expectation and Outburst", Romanian Young Artists Exhibition, Bucharest - Szombathely (1990-1991). He is the founder and editor-in-chief of Balkon and IDEA art + society (until 2020, now is editor), director of IDEA Publishing and founder and president of the IDEA Foundation, Cluj until 2021.

In 2013 he won the first prize in the Most Beautiful Books contest in Romania. In 2018 he received the award for Cultural Management from the Administration of National Cultural Fund.

Timotei Nădășan's art, like that of his partner Carolina Banc, was developed in the environment of the graphic arts section of the Institute of Fine Arts in Cluj and Atelier 35, where experimentation with graphic duplication techniques reached a very high and sophisticated level. In Nădășan's works, etching evokes memories, as if from old photographs. The drawing, sometimes resembling Braille writing, lifts the images out of the anonymity of found photographs and gives them a personal touch.
