Description

Otto Constantin (b. 1990) is an artist who specializes mainly in painting but also works with textile collages, carpet murals, and installations. After graduation from the Regina Maria Fine Arts High School, Constanța, in 2009, he studied in the Painting Department of the University of Fine Arts, Bucharest. Throughout his career, Otto Constantin has exhibited works in various prestigious venues in Bucharest, including Museum of Contemporary Art, UNARTE, Atelierele Malmaison, Carol 53 Gallery, ETAJ Art Space, and Cazul 101. He has also participated in exhibitions in Cluj-Napoca, at the Institut Français de Roumanie à Cluj, and at MATCA Art Space.

The Emotional Pollution series represents our responsibility when expressing emotions and feelings toward others. The heart, symbolizing love and the emotions, can sometimes cause harm to those around us when we fail to consider our actions carefully in order to create a safe space. Otto Constantin's practice revolves around identifying mundane situations and constructing a personal narrative around them, enveloping them in a layer of subjectivity. His works are ever-evolving and fluid, with different elements continuously interacting, thereby revealing various facets of an individual story.
